Senior Sous Chef | Plettenberg Bay

𝗝𝗗 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 is recruiting on behalf of a boutique hotel and restaurant in Plettenberg Bay, for an experienced and creative 𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗦 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗙.

Our client is a well-established boutique hotel situated in Plettenberg Bay, offering a refined hospitality experience on the Garden Route. The property features a full restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, a bar, a wine cellar and a wellness offering, set within beautifully manicured gardens and catering to discerning guests year-round.

The Senior Sous Chef will support an experienced Head Chef, playing a key role in maintaining and elevating culinary standards across all meal services. This is an opportunity for a passionate and driven chef ready to make their mark within a close-knit kitchen team. The ideal candidate is already based in or looking to settle in the Plettenberg Bay area.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

• Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen across all meal services, ensuring consistent food quality, presentation and hygiene standards.
• Assist with menu planning, development and seasonal updates in line with the restaurant’s direction and style.
• Lead kitchen operations and service in the Head Chef’s absence.
• Oversee preparation, production and service across all sections.
• Train, mentor and motivate junior kitchen staff, maintaining a professional and well-organised team.
• Assist with stock control, waste management and supplier ordering.

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

• Solid experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a quality restaurant or hotel kitchen.
• Strong culinary skills with a focus on quality, consistency and presentation across multiple meal services.
• Ability to lead and mentor a kitchen team effectively.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
• Already based in or genuinely looking to relocate to the Plettenberg Bay area.
• Passionate about food and committed to continuous improvement.

𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘆- R22 000 to R24 000 gross per month.

𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁- Full-time. Based in Plettenberg Bay, Garden Route.
