𝗝𝗗 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 is assisting a well-established safari operator in the Timbavati in sourcing an experienced 𝗟𝗢𝗗𝗚𝗘 𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗥.

Our client operates two established safari camps in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, one of the premier private wildlife areas bordering the Kruger National Park. The General Manager will oversee both camps, reporting directly to the owners.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role covering all aspects of lodge operations — from guest experience, finance and human resources to housekeeping, food and beverage, procurement and maintenance. The right candidate will be operationally strong, financially astute and genuinely guest-focused, with the ability to lead teams and run two properties to a consistently high standard.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

• Take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of both camps — overseeing all departments, maintaining consistent standards and making effective decisions to keep both properties running smoothly.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences — welcoming and hosting guests, managing complaints and service recovery, overseeing VIPs and ensuring high standards throughout all areas.
• Hold full financial accountability: monitor income, expenditure, budgets and cash flow; oversee stock takes and stock control; manage procurement and supplier relationships; and prepare monthly reporting.
• Lead and manage all lodge staff across both camps — scheduling, performance management, training, disciplinary matters and HR compliance.
• Oversee maintenance, facilities and equipment across both properties; report regularly to owners on performance, financials, staffing and operational matters.

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

• Proven experience as a Lodge General Manager or senior lodge operations manager.
• Strong financial acumen — comfortable with budgets, cost control, stock management and monthly reporting.
• Solid people leadership and HR management skills.
• Experience overseeing multiple departments simultaneously (F&B, housekeeping, maintenance, front office).
• Excellent guest relations and service recovery skills.
• Highly organised with strong administrative ability.
• Experience working in a remote safari environment.

𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘆- Around R40,000 per month.

𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁- Full-time. Live-in position in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve.
