𝗝𝗗 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 is assisting a well-known international lifestyle hotel in Cape Town in sourcing a dynamic & experienced 𝗗𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗢𝗥 𝗢𝗙 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗗 & 𝗕𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗘.

Our client is a vibrant, personality-driven lifestyle hotel based in Cape Town, offering a distinctive hospitality experience across multiple F&B outlets — including restaurants, bars, events, banqueting and in-room dining. The property is well established as one of Cape Town’s leading social and dining destinations.

The Director of Food & Beverage will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the entire F&B function. This is a visible, hands-on leadership role requiring someone who can drive revenue and profitability, deliver exceptional guest experiences, lead and develop a large team, and ensure all F&B offerings consistently reflect the hotel’s distinctive lifestyle brand.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

• Develop and implement the F&B strategy — driving innovation across menus, concepts, promotions and events, and ensuring all offerings reflect the hotel’s lifestyle brand positioning.
• Oversee day-to-day operations across all F&B outlets (restaurants, bars, events, banqueting, in-room dining), maintaining service excellence, quality standards and operational consistency.
• Manage commercial and financial performance — develop and manage budgets, drive revenue growth, control costs, and monitor key KPIs including labour, food and beverage costs.
• Lead, coach and develop the F&B management team and broader staff; build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
• Plan and execute events, activations and promotional campaigns; collaborate with Sales & Marketing to position the hotel as a leading social and dining destination.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, hygiene, licensing and food safety regulations; manage operational risks and implement corrective actions as required.

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

• Minimum 8-10 years’ F&B leadership experience within the hospitality industry, with a track record of managing multiple outlets.
• Experience within lifestyle, luxury, upscale or high-volume hospitality environments.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budget management and cost control.
• Proven ability to lead and develop large, diverse teams.
• Pre-opening experience is advantageous.
• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management or a related field.
• Creative, trend-aware, with a hands-on and visible leadership style.
• Passionate about hospitality, guest experience and innovation.
