𝗝𝗗 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 is recruiting on behalf of a well-established wildlife reserve in Tanzania, for a field-based and experienced 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗜-𝗣𝗢𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗥.

 

Our client manages a significant protected area in Tanzania, with a strong commitment to conservation, anti-poaching operations and community engagement. This is a hands-on, field-based leadership role supporting the Anti-Poaching Manager in planning, coordinating and executing anti-poaching operations across the reserve.

The successful candidate will lead ranger teams on the ground, uphold high standards of discipline, safety and conservation impact, and step in as Acting Manager when required. This role suits someone with a genuine commitment to wildlife protection, strong field leadership ability and the physical and mental resilience that comes with operating in a demanding bush environment.

 

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

  • Support the planning and execution of patrols, surveillance, rapid response operations and anti-illegal grazing activities.
  • Supervise and develop field teams, ensuring rangers and team leaders are well-trained, disciplined and operationally effective.
  • Coordinate with TAWA, law enforcement agencies and local communities, supporting joint operations and intelligence-sharing.
  • Manage informant networks and oversee deployment of surveillance tools including camera traps, drones and night vision equipment.
  • Capture and maintain field data using systems such as EarthRanger, SMART Patrol and CyberTracker, and prepare accurate operational reports.
  • Act as Anti-Poaching Manager in their absence and support ranger welfare, equipment maintenance and operational readiness.

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

  • Proven field experience in anti-poaching, ranger operations or wildlife protection, with demonstrated leadership of field teams.
  • Working knowledge of conservation law enforcement and experience liaising with TAWA or equivalent agencies.
  • Familiarity with field technology and data systems such as EarthRanger, SMART Patrol or CyberTracker.
  • Strong physical fitness and readiness for demanding, field-based deployment.
  • High personal discipline, integrity and sound judgement under pressure.
  • Commitment to safety protocols, conservation standards and the highest ethical conduct.
