Head Chef | Limpopo

𝗝𝗗 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 is partnering with a new intimate Wellness Retreat Lodge in Limpopo to appoint a creative and committed 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗙

This is a key leadership role and requires an experienced and committed Head Chef who will be responsible for delivering high-quality food experiences that support guest wellbeing and reflect a balance of creativity, consistency, and care.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing exceptional cuisine in varied environments including outdoor bush settings. They must be confident and imaginative in producing both traditional and vegetarian dishes, with equal emphasis on flavour, presentation, and nutritional value. A significant portion of the retreat offering is fully vegetarian, so it is essential that the chef is highly skilled in creating vibrant, nourishing plant-based meals that match the quality of meat-based options.

An understanding of how food contributes to physical and emotional wellbeing is vital, as guests stay for extended periods and rely on the culinary experience to feel energised and supported.

equirements:

• Culinary qualification from a reputable institution
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Head Chef | Executive Chef role in a similar lodge or remote hospitality setting
• Flexible and collaborative, with the ability to adapt to off-site catering, bush meals, and changing logistics
• Skilled in both traditional and vegetarian cooking and creativity to prepare rustic food that looks beautiful, tastes vibrant and is health-focused
• Strong understanding of how food supports physical and emotional wellbeing, particularly in extended-stay retreat settings
• Skilled in menu planning, costing and inventory control
• Loyal and committed to long-term growth and maintaining high standards
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience, with a focus on training sous chefs and developing local talent
• Contactable references and a portfolio that showcases versatility, creativity, and a strong visual presentation of dishes
