JD Specialized Recruitment has partnered with a progressive entity, involved with large scale Tourism and Conservation projects in Saudi Arabia, to identify a highly experienced PRINCIPAL ECOLOGIST

Role Purpose

The Senior Ecologist is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and overseeing ecological research and conservation initiatives across wildlife reserves, guiding sustainable development and biodiversity protection, and ensuring compliance with national and international environmental standards.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Natural Resources, Ecology, Forestry, Environmental Science or related field
• 10+ years’ experience in Conservation Management, including arid environments, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
• At least 5-year field-based biodiversity research/monitoring experience, including field application of biodiversity monitoring methods
• Prior experience leading large-scale habitat or species restoration projects.
• Experience in similar ecosystems (arid, desert-like environments) -very beneficial
• Proven track record in developing and managing ecological projects
• Experience in the initial development phase and planning of wildlife reserves and related infrastructure
• Biodiversity monitoring tools and data analysis experience
• Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management
• Experience living and working in remote and challenging settings
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Stable employment history and contactable references
