𝗝𝗗 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 is recruiting on behalf of a recognised, conservation-driven luxury safari and hospitality group for an experienced, commercially astute, and purpose-aligned 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗗𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗢𝗥
This business operates at the intersection of world-class luxury hospitality, active conservation, and meaningful community impact. With a flagship presence in one of Africa’s most iconic and ecologically significant destinations, the organisation has built a globally respected brand rooted in responsible tourism and authentic wilderness experiences. The incoming leader will step into an operation that combines commercial scale with deep purpose, in a market that demands both entrepreneurial agility and a genuine commitment to conservation and community outcomes.
As Managing Director, you will carry full accountability for the performance, strategic direction, and operational integrity of the Botswana business. This encompasses P&L ownership, multi-site operations leadership, brand stewardship, and stakeholder engagement across internal and external audiences. You will be expected to set the tone for a high-performing senior leadership team, drive sustainable growth and service excellence, and ensure that all commercial outcomes remain aligned with the organisation’s environmental and social values. The role calls for a leader who is equally at home in the boardroom and the bush.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience at Managing Director or equivalent C-suite level, with direct ownership of business P&L
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with a verifiable track record of driving sustainable profitability
- Background in leading multi-site, complex operations within luxury hospitality, tourism, or a related service-driven sector
- Proven ability to translate high-level strategy into disciplined, measurable execution
- Experience operating in emerging or frontier markets, with an appreciation of regional constraints and stakeholder dynamics
- Values-led leadership style characterised by high integrity, sound judgement, and the ability to inspire confidence across diverse stakeholder groups
- Demonstrated capacity to build, develop, and retain high-performing senior leadership teams
- Resilient and adaptable, with comfort operating in remote environments and logistically demanding conditions
- A genuine affinity for conservation and community-driven business models — this is not a box to tick, but a lens through which the business operates
