An exclusive 5-star lodge in the Sabi Sand Reserve is looking for a talented and dedicated Junior Sous Pastry Chef to join their culinary team. This is a hands-on position, assisting the Head and Senior Sous Chefs in maintaining the lodge’s high standards and delivering exceptional pastry and dessert experiences to guests.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a pastry chef with ambition, flair, and a love for the bush to grow within a world-class hospitality brand.
𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:
- Relevant culinary degree or diploma from a reputable institution.
- Minimum of 3 years’ pastry kitchen experience in a similar high-end lodge or hotel environment
- Strong food knowledge, creativity, and awareness of dietary requirements
- Confident in supervising, mentoring, and motivating junior kitchen staff
- Working knowledge of hygiene, kitchen equipment, and safety protocols
- Physically fit, well-groomed, and committed to high standards
- Knowledge of labour legislation and basic first aid is an advantage
- Good administrative skills including food cost, menu planning and HR
- Stable employment history with contactable references
